Reflection

Winter 2020 and Summer 2021 Internship

Having graduated from Wellesley in June 2021 with a major in Media Arts and Sciences, an interdisciplinary study of art history, studio art, and computer science, I jumped at the opportunity to intern at the Davis Museum. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about museum education and the growing intersection of art and wellness. In addition to having valuable talks with professionals from the Davis, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the JFK Library, the Rhode Island School of Design, Christie's Auction House, and other renowned institutions, I was responsible for helping curate a virtual exhibition (available Fall 2020 Culture Connect Tour) of artworks from the Davis's collections. The works explore intersectionality, marginalized identities, bio-politics, and other themes that resonate with past and present feminist movements.

Before participating in the summer internship, I developed virtual activities for Wellesley students and families to engage in conversations about anti-racism, diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. In this role, I had the opportunity to explore the Davis's collections and select artworks as starting points for craft-based activities.
